Cents ( aka: One Cent Coins, Pennies)
Although NationalParksQuarters.us features quarters, I have added pennies to the website as well. Collecting the new 2009 pennies has become a fun challenge. I am also trying to complete a Flying Eagle, Indian Head cent book I received from my grandfather.I have made progress on the Flying Eagles and Indian Head pennies. I try not to over spend, I'm just trying to complete the book with some decent coins. I purchased an unsearched roll of Indian Head cents and filled seven open spaces in the coin book.
I have also taken an interest in the 2009 Lincoln Bicentennial One Cent Program that features four different coins.
- LP1
- The LP1 is the first one cent coin released for 2009. It features a log cabin on the reverse side commemorating the Kentucky Birthplace and early childhood of Abraham Lincoln from 1809 - 1816. The LP1 US Mint rolls have already become a very valuable collectible.
- LP2
- The LP2 is known as the "Formative Years" cent (aka: Rail Splitter or Log Splitter penny) and was released in the second quarter of 2009. The LP2 commemorates Lincoln's years in Indiana from 1816 - 1830. The reverse side shows Lincoln reading while sitting on a log.
- LP3
- The LP3 is the third coin in the 2009 Lincoln Bicentennial One Cent series. Released in the summer of 2009, the LP3 commemorates Lincoln's "Professional Life" in Illinois from 1830 - 1861. The reverse side of the LP3 depicts Abraham Lincoln standing in front of the Illinois State Capital building.
- LP4
- The LP4 is the fourth and final one cent coin released in the last quarter of 2009. The LP4 is the "Presidency" penny and commemorates Lincoln's years as President from 1861 - 1865. The reverse side of the LP4 shows the Nation's Capital building under construction.
- Lincoln Coin and Chronicles Set - An excellent investment, the 2009 LN6 Lincoln Coin and Chronicles Set is a rare and valuable coin set from the US Mint. Only 55,000 sets were produced. Order yours today!
